Professor’s question:

With the rise of digital technology, the way we read is changing. E-books offer convenience, portability, and features like text search, making them popular among students. However, many people still prefer traditional printed books, arguing they offer a better reading experience with fewer distractions and help with information retention. For academic purposes, which format do you believe is more effective for learning and studying? Please explain your reasoning.

Student response 1:

I definitely prefer physical books for studying because they have fewer distractions. It's too easy to get sidetracked by notifications on a digital device. In addition, I find it easier to remember information when I can physically highlight text and write notes in the margins.

Student response 2:

I find e-books much more practical for academic work. They are lightweight, so I can carry an entire library on one device instead of heavy textbooks. Furthermore, the search function is incredibly useful for finding specific information quickly when I'm writing an essay or studying for an exam.
