Professor’s question:

In many of our courses, professors assign group projects where students collaborate on a single assignment. The goal is to foster teamwork and shared learning. However, some educators argue that individual assignments are a more accurate measure of a student's understanding and personal effort. In your opinion, which format is more effective for learning in a university setting: group projects or individual assignments? Why?

I believe group projects are more beneficial for learning because they teach essential teamwork and communication skills, which are crucial for any future career. Working with others also exposes you to different perspectives on the subject, which can deepen your own understanding and lead to a more comprehensive final product.

Student response 2:

I think individual assignments are more effective. In group projects, it is common for one or two students to do most of the work, but everyone receives the same grade. As a result, individual work provides a fairer assessment of each student's knowledge and encourages personal responsibility and focus.
