Professor’s question:

In our discussion on modern learning environments, let's consider the role of technology. Many schools are moving from traditional paper textbooks to digital textbooks on tablets and laptops. Digital versions are often cheaper and more interactive. However, some research suggests that students retain information better from physical books and experience fewer distractions. Which format do you believe is more beneficial for student learning, and why?

I believe digital textbooks are more beneficial because they are more interactive and accessible. For instance, students can search for keywords instantly and access embedded videos or links to learn more. As a result, learning becomes a more dynamic and engaging experience compared to static paper books.

Student response 2:

I think traditional textbooks are better for focused learning. When I read on a screen, I am often tempted by notifications and other websites. However, with a physical book, there are no such distractions. This helps me concentrate better, so I remember the material for longer.
