Professor’s question:

In many university courses, professors assign a lot of group projects. The goal is to help students develop teamwork and communication skills, which are important for their future careers. However, some students find group work frustrating due to unequal participation and scheduling conflicts. In your opinion, are group projects a more beneficial or a more problematic part of a university education? Why?

Student response 1:

I think group projects are extremely beneficial. They teach us how to collaborate, manage different personalities, and combine our strengths to achieve a common goal. Even though they can be challenging, these are precisely the skills we will need in any professional job, so it's good practice.

Student response 2:

I find group projects to be more problematic. It is often the case that one or two students do most of the work, but everyone gets the same grade. As a result, it can be an unfair assessment of an individual's knowledge and effort, which causes a lot of stress.
