Dear Students,

Welcome to HIS 201: The Age of Exploration! I am writing to you before the semester begins to provide important information about our course materials. There is one required textbook for this class that you will need to purchase.

The book is titled "Voyages and Discoveries" by Dr. Eleanor Vance. It is available for purchase at the campus bookstore, and you may also find it through other online retailers. Please ensure you have access to the book by the start of the course.

To prepare for our first meeting, you are required to read the first two chapters before our class on Wednesday, August 28. This initial reading will form the basis of our first discussion. I look forward to meeting you all soon.
