Professor’s question:

In our discussion on modern education, let's consider the role of technology. Many schools are now providing tablets or laptops to every student for use in the classroom and at home. Supporters argue this prepares students for a digital world and provides access to more resources. However, critics worry about distractions and a lack of traditional learning skills. Which approach do you think is more effective for student learning, and why?

Student response 1:

I believe providing every student with a device is a great idea because it gives them access to a huge amount of information instantly. For instance, instead of just using one textbook, they can research topics online and find interactive learning materials, which makes learning more engaging.

Student response 2:

On the other hand, I think this policy creates more problems than it solves. Students are easily distracted by games and social media, so they might not pay attention in class. Furthermore, I believe it is still very important for students to learn how to write by hand and read physical books.
