Professor’s question:

In our discussion on modern education, we have seen a significant shift from traditional printed textbooks to digital versions. Digital books are often cheaper and can include interactive features. However, some studies suggest that reading from a screen can be more distracting and that students retain information better from physical books. Which format do you believe is more effective for overall student learning, and why?

Student response 1:

I believe digital textbooks are the future because they are much more affordable and accessible. For instance, you can carry hundreds of books on one device instead of a heavy backpack. The interactive elements like quizzes and videos also help me understand complex topics much better as a result.

Student response 2:

I find physical books are better for serious studying because they don't have notifications popping up. Even though digital versions are convenient, I can focus more deeply and take notes in the margins, which helps my memory. It simply feels like a more engaged learning experience for me.
