Dear Faculty Members,

This email is to inform you of an important update to the borrowing policy for materials in the university library's Special Collections room. The new procedures are being implemented to better preserve our most valuable and fragile historical documents.

Effective November 1, all requests to borrow items from the Special Collections will require written permission from the head librarian. The checkout period will also be standardized to 14 days, with no renewals permitted to ensure availability for other researchers.

These changes apply only to the materials housed in the Special Collections room on the third floor. All other library lending policies remain unchanged. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us protect these unique resources.
