You are organizing a department-wide potluck lunch to celebrate the end of the academic year. You sent out a sign-up sheet last week, but very few people have responded, and you are worried there will not be enough food.

Write an email to your department colleagues. In your email, do the following.

• • Express your excitement for the upcoming potluck.
• • Explain the low number of sign-ups so far.
• • Ask everyone to sign up by the end of the day.
